Finding cousins has been outstanding Fred 25/06/2010 00:54:48 0
Since late last year I have been successful in locating or them locating me via Genesreunited two cousins one in England and the other in France,.

Just this past month and as late as this week another two have made contact here in Australia with one only living 10 minutes from where I live....the another more exciting as it is hoped that this will lead to reconnecting with a cousin from about 8 years ago......To say I am 'over the moon' would be an understatement.

I had a great response to the thread asking for information on the above. It turns out that Frank was in fact the Town Clerk and indeed a freeman of the city of Birmingham. My special thanks to
Joan, MaureeninNy for her detailed information, Gwyn in Kent and Ann of Green Gables and to Cynthia the volunteer helper who let me know how to acess all this valuable information.

I want to thank all the people who have helped me get my family tree to what it is today. I cannot remember all your names but you know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. On my dads mothers side, I knew nothing of the family and with thanks to my aunt Jean Cullen, I managed to find some members I did not have and I am now in touch with cousins I didn't know I had. It has been a wonderful experience in that respect. Thank you to all of you.

FAMILY HISTORY Darkie 19/06/2010 15:55:21 0
Hi Everyone

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped me on this site. A few months ago someone contacted me through GR site as that member had a match with me with the same name as my grandmother (which matched up 100%) and this particular member has helped me a great deal.

I found out that I have extra cousins (still living) on my late mothers side and I have learn't that my Mother had a brother and sister who I never met (the extra brother she had who I was unable to meet died in 1945, (very sad), because when my Mum was alive I only knew of her having one brother only who I did meet. (But my Mum's sister was still living when I was born and died a few years ago, still never had that chance to meet up.

As I did not grow up with my parents from the age of 6xyears onwards I decided to research my family history to get to know where I came from and it was very interesting.

Thank you very much to the Genes Reunited team too who have helped me a great deal.

I have so much information now on my family passed and present.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO VOLUNTEER RESEARCHERS Jeaniealogist 18/06/2010 11:52:34 0
I think it is about time I acknowledged publicly my thanks to all the wonderful folk who made a contribution & did so much to progress my family tree. I could not have gathered so much information on my family as I have done since posting enquiries on the Boards.

FannyByGaslight - first and foremost because she was so indefatigable - BatMansDaughter - who did almost as much as Fanny - SylviaInCanada - MargaretManson- MaureeninNY - brummiejan - LiverBird1 - Londonbelle - Irish Gel - Susan - DET - Gwyn in Kent - ***alviegal*** - George of Westbury

and last BUT NOT LEAST Choccy and WayneTracey who worked minor miracles on my Australian connection.

If I have failed to mention someone - my apologies - but you will probably know who you are.

Many thanks for all your assistance and please keep up the good work despite the rudeness and abuse some of you have suffered from ungrateful posters who you have been trying to help.

Although so far as I can recall I didn't have assistance from Zoe and Ginny on my threads I would like to give them a mention as I have noticed they have made one member VERY happy recently. Well done.

Jeanie

I have been able to trace my family on both sides through genes reunited.I never expected to be able to find relatives on my mothers side of the family because she knew next to nothing about them, but I've found them all.
