Moved!!! Does anyone know where it has gone to?
I regularly use this convenient site but today I am being told it is not available; might have moved? I'm not having any joy discovering where it has gone to; or if this is just a temporary technical problem, or possibly a weekend overload?
OR if it is just me? Are others of you experiencing this problem?

There have been a couple of threads about these in the last couple of days - apparently it had a virus problem and Ancestry.com have withdrawn it - a real pain!

You don't happen to know if anything similar exists?

Thanks I found Catherine's query and Hugh's answer. This is terrible news!! I hope Ancestry propose to sort it out asap? It is too good a research facility to lose!

You can still search the records on familysearch and, I think, there have been more added since Hugh's site was set up.

I think ancestry has alot to do with the loss of this site especially as they have recently added more baptism and early marriage records to their site, which you can only view for an extra charge. I have sent them an email asking them if they know anything about it and whether it will be reinstated, I tried the family search and it is not nearly as good as hughs was.

I absolutely agree about Familysearch not being as good. I have actually typed information into Familysearch, subsequent to finding it on Hugh's site and have been told 'No Match'. I don't understand how this can happen as I thought Hugh's site consisted of material extracted from Familysearch then conveniently organised? But it has happened! .. On more than one occasion!
You could be right about Ancestry but I hope not ... The subscription increase is quite substantial! Let's hope they sort out the 'virus' and reinstate this valuable site! Perhaps if enough people were to write to them................

For anyone who wants to give it a go .. there are instructions given by Genuki for working out IGI Batch Numbers. Complicated or what??? ... But maybe once one has the hang of it, it is not as daunting as it at first looks?
I think that for now I will give it a miss and hope that Hugh's site returns.
Anyone who does try it ... do let me know how you get on?
