Ok so heres where i am, Ive done really well on findind my relatives on here simply by using the family trees and have been successful in finding out the majority of my family was on here.

When doing my mums side i came to abit of a holt heres what i know, My great grandad was Lawrence O'Toole born 1903 died 1974 he married a Margaret Mccall and went on to have 3 children Margaret, Mary and Veronica (ronnie) all in the 1940's.

We know that before he met Margaret he was living in Australia for around 15/20 years did he have a family whilst over there??

His mum and dad where Lawrence O'Toole born 1877 and Winifrd O'Neill born around 1880??? died 1908. They went on to have only 3 kids, Lawrence O'Toole and Mary (May) born 1908 and 1 died early not sure of the name.

We have been to her Grave in Runcorn a while ago which is where she was born to apparently but cant remember when she was born

Winifred then died 3 weeks later after having Mary

We believe Lawrence 1903 when he was in Australia he wrote home to his dad asking him to come over and he did, It is believed he had a child whilst over there ??
how would i find that out??
The 2 Lawrences both came home around 1939/1940

Lawrence O'Tooles mum and dad where again Lawrence but O'Toole now spelt Toole i was told this was normal to of added on a O later.
Think he was born around 1840 dont no when he died ??? there where talks his dad was born South Ireland, or He was but we know that one of them originated from Ireland

his wife we think was Mary Emma ???? i think Downey but i could be wrong and maybe born around 1844 I know he had brothers and sisters by the 1911 cencus but he may have had more which is what i want to know.

Who was Lawrences and Mary Emmas parents??
Who was Winifred O'Neills parents??
Who was Lawrences siblings??
When did they Die??

Any help would be greatful

Also in the 1901 census they have a grand daughter named Mary E Hayes who is 10, whose is she???

Lawrence O'Toole and Winifred O'Neill were married in Runcorn Registry Office in 1901.
I have searched both local graveyards, Runcorn and Halton, for further details without success.
I suggest that you contact Runcorn Registry Office and obtain a cop[y of their marriage certificate.

Best regards

There is no mention in the 1881 census of a Lawrence O'Toole or a Winifred O'Neill living in the Runcorn area. However a search of Lancs. list a Lawrence O'Toole aged 1 living with his parents in Liverpool, the family detail is as follows.
Henry O'Toole aged 39 born in Ireland. Head of house.
Mar O'Toole aged 36 born in Ireland,wife.
Catherine O'Toole aged 16 born in Ireland, daughter.
Mary O'Toole aged 14 born in Ireland, daughter.
Lawrence O'Toole aged 1 born n Liverpool.
The afore mentioned marriage certificate will confirn if confirm if this is your forebear.

Best regards

This thread has loads and loads of links to help YOU research your Irish ancestors.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/genealogy_chat/thread/951721

You really *must* order some of the BMD certs as suggested on earlier threads, and on this, and make use of

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk for Liverpool/Lancashire

The 1901 marriage gro is on freebmd. You will need to order it to confirm the father's names.
