Sarah Beatrice Kalthoeber

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Ronald Report 15 May 2012 21:51

I have the baptism record of Sarah Beatrice Kalthoeber on 16 August 1876 in Camden showing father as William Henry Kalthoeber and mother Elizabeth. I have been unable to find any other record for her or her parents (no census or BMD). I would be grateful if some eagle-eyed member could assist me with this.
Thanks in advance.

Looking at Ancestry records for this surname and who is saving them it looks like Ron is researching the name

If William dies and Elizabeth marries at the start of April 1881, she could be under a new name on the census..
Marriages Jun 1881
BRADSHAW James St. Saviour 1d 49
HERBERT Daniel St. Saviour 1d 49
KALTHOEBER Elizabeth St. Saviour 1d 49
KALTHORBER Elizabeth St Saviour Southwark 1d 49
MARSHALL Martha St.Saviour 1d 49

Added:
There are births for possible sisters on free bmd (Charlotte and Ada)

Sheer speculation - based on Sarah's birth year

WILLIAM KALTHOEBER
:
11 AUG 1854 Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England

Mother: ANN KALTHOEBER

Hi Christine, yes they are ancestors and I have been researching the Kalthoebers for many years.
Hi Reggie, long time no speak. I just entered Kalthoeber into Ancestry to see if there were any new records and the baptism came up.
Hi Glitter B, also long time no speak. Yes, I saw that, but I can't find any other records

So you're not researching a specific person - just taking random hits on the name?

I think the 1881 marriage could be ruled out as she is down on marriage cert as a spinster

Mike * Report 15 May 2012 22:31

The birth cert for Sarah above may proved that Elizabeth was a spinster.
Not unknown for father to be invented.

OR

may be like my Gt Gt grandmother who married for a 2nd time under her maiden name as a spinster when she had been married 19 years.

Ronald

Ronald Report 15 May 2012 22:37

Sorry for delay in replying. Just trying to get my head round the posts.
Patcham - I don't think the 1881 marriage is for William Henry's Elizabeth. James Bradshaw and Elizabeth Sarah Kalthoeber are my paternal gt grandparents and I'm pretty sure she was a spinster when marrying.
Reggie, I have eleven William Ks in my tree, none of whom were born in 1854 (I presume that was a birth record), so you could be on to something. Is that an IGI record? I am looking for Sarah Beatrice's descendants in particular, but I do a trawl now and again to see if there are any new records for the Ks generally. I have hundreds of records for them, but am still trying to attach them to my root tree and Sarah Beatrice is a new one.
Pam, thanks for the FreeBMD record. I'd missed that.

Thanks for your comments. I will have to order Sarah Beatrice's birth cert now that I have the reference from Pam and see what's what. On your second point, that could also be a possibility. Hey ho, this genealogy lark is full of surprises!
