Find Ancestors

I am trying to find this mans parents. Can anyone help please?

Hi Rich,

I can't see a birth for Fred Fuller in Saffron Walden to fit.... or anytime close, could he have been born elsewhere or been born prior to his mothers marriage?

Do you know who he married? If so you may have to order his marriage certificate to get his fathers name and occupation.

Maybe the family lore is wrong..wouldn't surprise me!
His full name was Frederick George Fuller and probably he was 1905.
I can find two on the BMD in Woolwich and West Ham.
His father was William George Fuller but as i can't access the 1911 census I cannot see th etwo of them together.
If anyone can check that one I'd be very grateful but if not then thanks for trying people. it is appreciated.

I assume you got this info from his marriage cert? Do you have an occupation for his father?
Anyone can do a basic 1911 search - see Jonesey's thread on records office, will nudge it for you.

EDIT do the witnesses to his marriage offer any clues?

I managed to track down some living relatives and it seems family info was wrong.

Fred was born 1905. I have his marriage cert now to show that. His dad William George was shown as deceased at marriage but was a newsagent. (someone said he may have been a woodmerchant at one time too)
Fred's mum was apparently never married to William. She may well have been a seamstress called Harriet. Apparently she went on to marry a Mcpherson (spelling not sure).
Fred had a half brother George apparently older (but I am not convinced of that). Apparently died in WW2.
Np place names but Fred lived with my grandma in Walthamstow.

A lesson learned there I think! Family info is invluable but to be treated with caution (speaks as someone who has been down many a false path!)

I think you need someone who can look fully at 1911 to find Fred. Might not have been born a Fuller.

Well I have found a W G Fuller newsagent in 1901 census born in Kings Cross. I chekced every single William Fuller and I think this must be him.

Thanks for the checking in this thread for me. What I am not sure of is if Harriet below is Fred's mum then Fred should be there (unles she gave him up to his dad)?

WG was married in 1901 and so poss George (freds half brother) is not, as we assumed in the family, related through mum but through dad. The affair (or leaving) of his wife by WG might therefore have occurred 1903/4 to give time for George to be born in wedlock and Fred to be born out of it.

I am going to have to buy credits for the 1911 census aren't I? :(

That is the WG Fuller! Thank you very much!
I have just found out that Harriet was a bit of a firework! She apparently married 3 times.
She had Fred ( Ws boy) with her when she had his step brother George with a Mr Mcpherson.
I guess (altho family say otherwise) she might have married WG which would be why on the post in this thread Dee found her under that name, or maybe she took it for her son's sake. Her maiden name is going to be elusive tho!

The witnesses were from the wife's side only for definite.
I am going to get the marriage cert mentioned ion this thread plus the sept 1905 birth cert fro FG Fuller from Woolwich to see if i can find out more!

If you're willing to take a gamble on about £7.00 I would buy the marriage certificate to Mr Mcpherson...... it may have Harriett as Harriett Fuller, formley ????? (maiden name)? Then you may have another name for Harriett.
