Trying to find Macdonald

Aspergerman Report 14 Aug 2006 06:56

Martha Macdonald was 24 when she got married March 1875, in Wolverhampton. The 1891 census shows birthplace as Marylebone (London) but there is no record of her birth registration, nor any record of her on 1851,1861,1871, nor 1881 (Evans) census. Her marriage cert states her father was Hugh Macdonald (deceased), Pay Sergeant Coldstream Guards. I cannot find Hugh on any census records (1841 - 1871) and sought advice from NationaI Archives at Kew to see if I could glean anything from his military career. They directed me to the Guards museum, who immediately referred me to the General Records Office as 'they hold the information that you are seeking'. I thought GRO was at Kew - does anyone know where they are located?. Any help would be appreciated. This updates my message dated 14/08/2006
