Trying to find the parents of James McNamara born approx 1860, married 1895 to Margaret Holden in Carlisle and died 1899 Glasgow. (Occupation - tailor) The marriage & death certificates I have found state his father's name is also James - either a mason or a tailor (v.confusing!) I have found a Scottish 1891census entry for a James at the correct age living with his widowed mother Annie, this states James was born in England. A death certificate I have found for an Annie McNamara gives her maiden name as Hillom/Hiller. I can not find the birth entry for James jnr on the bmd. Do these details ring a bell with anyone?
