Trying to find Mills

I am trying to find information about my husband's Grandfather. He was born in 1897 in ?Wandsworth, London, and his name was George William Mills. His father, also George William Mills, was not married to his mother at the time, but they had another child called Rose Mills. George's mother went on to marry Mr Pearson, and they had 2 more children called James and Ethel Pearson. We cannot find him on the 1901 census because of the uncertain surname, but hope someone may recognise this. Thanks, Rachel
