I don't even have a first name for her so I am finding it difficult to find information, thanks. M.

A birth certificate for one of the sons should give her name.
Three possible marriages??
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages Mar 1854 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Orrell James Hewitt Wigan 8c 67
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages Jun 1856 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORRELL James Wigan 8c 37

Longshot:
The other male on the 1854 marriage is a John Davenport, on the 1861 there is one in Wigan c1830 with wife Eleanor and eldest child aged 6. So Elizabeth Livsey would be my longshot bet.
WILLIAM ORRELL
Marriages: Spouse: ELIZABETH HEWETT Marriage: 30 OCT 1825 Wigan, Lancashire, England
In 1871 he is living next door to his brother John and his mother Elizabeth.

Hi, thanks to you all, i need to study what notes I have as there are a number of Orrells and they seem to use a lot of similar names, ie. William and James, I know that my William (son of James) married Elizabeth Moss, I got the birth cert for their daughter, my husbands grandmother, but would you believe that there were two william Orrells one born 1856 and one 1857 married in the same year both to Elizabeths!!!!!!!! So thanks again, I will go through and check on all your ideas. I will let you know how I go on. regards. M.

Hi, just to let you know i decided to look at births, I thought I would try John, as I know there are quite a few William Orrells, so went for 2 years before and after date according to census and guess what there were lots, so I am re-thinking. I have also found a marriage for james Hewitt Orrell but I have also found a marriage c1848 for James Orrell and Dinah Leatherbarrow! so i will keep ploughing through all your ideas. I also think James married again as there is an entry on 1891 census with wife listed as Mary and they live on Petticoat lane, it has been re-named but in small letters it clearly says petticoat lane. So...... On I go..... many thanks once again. regards M

Hi, sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I started getting all confused with the names all being the same and I had to sort out my notes etc to try and get my head clear. David I think you have got me the names of the next generation!! because this is how it looks to me what do you all think??? William Orrell married Elizabeth Hewitt October 1825 Their Son James Hewitt Orrell married Elizabeth Livesey 1854 Their Son William Orrell married Elizabeth Moss 1879, he died and she remarried to Charles McKenna. I have noticed that it was very popular to use the mothers maiden name in one of the childrens names and I know that James Father was called William soooooo do you think I am on the right track. Your opinion will be appreciated...gosh I feel like Poirot or maybe it should be miss marples!! cheers M.

Hi thanks for all your help, but how can I be sure that I have the right James and William? I would hate to be going off on a tangent and getting a branch on the tree that was not really ours, if you know what i mean. The dates of marriages etc do seem to fit and I am not sure whether to try for birth certs or marriage certs, sorry to sound really whiffy on this one but it has got me so undecided due to the number of william and James orrells I know were about at that time, advice would be appreciated. many thanks. m.
