Hi Debs, hope you find him - i met with my dad last night and it went really well. Its weird because he has memories of me and i have none, almost like coming from two different places. But it went well and he is very proud to have found me and planning a meet up in two weeks. I was very nervous but all that faded within 10 minutes of him being here.

I was wondering if someone could look up a chap called Laurence/lawrence crisp, he is 40 so born in 1968, never married no kids, he lives in somerset.. possibly in taunton area - his dads name would be Alan Crisp. His dad Alan was born on 28.09.1940.

It is for my mother in law who is looking for her brother. She is in the same situation as I was, where her dad wont give her any information as he no longer talks to him.

thanks guys

Hi all. I just got off the phone to my father and it went so well and I am very happy. He was very emotional and I think slightly proud of how much effort I went through to find him. Obviously I told him about my genes reunited family and how you have all been so supportive and wonderful with information tracking and being their for me when all looked so bleak.

I cant thank you all enough.. drinks on me I guess!

Many thanks guys from all of the Lawmans, Howards and Long's.

Gem xx

That's excellent news. I've gone all goosey just thinking about you picking up the phone and saying 'Hi dad', you must be on cloud nine! Don't think about it just do it :-) Go on be brave :-)
I think your story should be an inspiration to others as your road has not been easy. Your dads name alone being so commonplace has made the journey that bit longer but you have proven that 'where there's a will there's a way' and that in some ways every dead end does get you one step nearer to ending your quest.

Here's to new beginnings and I wish you and your father a long and happy relationship. Please let us know how it goes :-)

Best wishes

Gemma, what a wonderful end to this thread which I have been following over the weeks. I am so pleased for you.
I'm sure you will have enough courage to phone your father, you've certainly shown it and your tenacity over this long search.
Wishing you every happiness, Jennifer

Hello all,

Today I got in contact with Nicola Veness who's mum is my biological fathers sister. (Patricia Long)

I have been given my fathers phone number and he is waiting for my call. I got a lovely email from Nicola telling me all about my family etc and how my dad has always spoke of me (which was nice)...

and now all I got to do is pluck up the courage to call my dad! :-)

I wish to thank everyone on here that helped me look for my family and searched through BT records and the rest. You have all been fantastic and shown great interest in my search.

Thank you all very much & good luck in your own searches!
