Lost for Words ;-)

Lost for Words ;-) Report 14 May 2008 18:38

Hi Selena

re other siblings, if you look back (page 9) ValT found two possible siblings for David born just after Ivy and Fred married, they would have been 20ish when David was born and possibly that's why they weren't known of. ValT and I also found marriages and children of the older siblings and have sent Gemma ER details.
Hopefully she'll have some good news soon, fingers crossed :-)

Regards

LfW, thanks for the update, I must have missed a good bit in the middle of the thread. I was starting to think that Fred & Ivy might be grandparents for a moment.

Sound promising, I hope she has some good news as well.

Hi Gemma,

Wishing you the best of luck - i too am looking for my birth father but i am the same age as your mum and only found out after the man who raised me died this year in April - my mother died 4 years ago. I would really ask you to ask your mum to try and give you a little of information - its so so difficult to do this on your own and so many people have offered you great information. I am trying a website called Birth parent .co.uk and its early days but they are always happy to speak first before you pay them. Its worth paying and having peace of mind - you pay a deposit and the rest if a successful search is completed.
I wish you all the best in your search - and hope you find him.

Regards
Simone

Hi Gemma, what happened about the birth certificate you ordered for David?

Gemma

Gemma Report 22 Sep 2008 14:30

It never arrived and they refunded my money without telling me. I waited 3 months at least so I am now going to apply again.

Oh good news! .. Today I found my godmother on friends reunited "Helena Corbally" :-)
I am very excited and hopefully I will get to know her and maybe find out more about the situation back then.

A big thank you to Sheila Molyneux & Margaret Finch on here for pointing out that she was on FR.

Many thanks and will post when I finally get this BCert.

Hi Gemma

Did you get stuck with the cert because of the 50 year rule? Hopefully you're godmother will have some info for you, fingers crossed and thanks for keeping us updated.
