Hi Val

After doing a bit of calculation,i reckon they would have got married c 1898,
as the eldest daughter is 3 in 1901.

There is a marriage in sept quarter 1898 in Gateshead,,where they were living,,of a William Errington to a Mary Ann Robson.
There is also a birth of a Caroline Errington in Gateshead in march quarter 1901 in Gateshead,,,this could be the youngest daughter, especially if she was born in January 1901.
My parish records dont go past 1837 for Gateshead so i looked on Ancestry for this.
It looks like they are living in Lanchester in 1911

I couldnt find any marriage of William ERRINGTON to a Mary Ann.
If he was born in 1881 and his first child was born in 1898 he would have only been 17.
Have you found them on the Census anywhere? I looked on 1901 and 1911 and couldnt see them.
I also checked for the marriage and baptisms at DRO but nothing there either,

Many thanks for taking the time to look for me.
I do not think this can be the same E.J.Stephenson as her marriage certificate gives her father as John Jackson Stephenson not Robert.I have found several listings for the birth of E.J.S from 1883 to 1887 all in Co. Durham but the nearest 2 are in Easington vol 10a page 458 and Houghton 10a 523 but I am not even certain where she was born, just guessing it would be the area they lived. I will have to try and get up to London to look these up - can't keep sending for cert's without knowing if right one. Signed up to1911 website but they have not completed Durham area yet and don't have enough info. to pick out the right familyies on any earlier census. Think I have found Robert HIlls on the 1901.1891.1871 1861 (haven't got 1881?) But hopefully when 1911 is ready it might help me more.

The only Elizabeth Jane Stephenson i could find for the correct year was:-

Holy Trinity- South Hetton --20th June 1884--Elizabeth Jane Stephenson daughter of Robert Stephenson and Hannah Isabella Stephenson.

I cant find anything on Robert Hills (i also tried it without the 'S') or John Jackson Stephenson. (also tried this with a 'v')

I am trying to find the right birth records for my g/p Robert Hills bn 1884/5 and g/m Elizabeth Jane Stephenson bn 1884/5.
I have their marraige cert. for 5/12/1903.it shows Robert Hills age 19 from Elemore Vale.he is a miner- father is Robert hills also a miner. I believe his g/f was also Robert Hills.
my g/m Elizabeth Jane Stephenson age 19 from Brick Garth. father being John Jackson Stephenson a Fireman.
but cannot seem to get the right info on him either.
My mother was Alice bn 1911. her siblings were Ada,Jenny,Mable,Evelyn.Jackie,Flora,Maggie,Susan,Robert & James.
Any help would be appreciated
