Madeleine
It is easier to help if researchers can all see the information you give in answer to questions. Sometimes someone can think of a new line of approach, when they see added information.

Just click Add reply ..as you did to post your other messages.

Have I been answering all my replies to the wrong system? Hope not. I would not want to offend anyone by them thinking that I hadn't replied when I had. Madeleine

Frederick's mother Mary Ann was from Lambeth. Perhaps that's why he ended up there. William died in 1869.

ie. when and where do you see him and KNOW he is the right person.

Madeleine Report 2 Jul 2008 15:31

For the last seven years I have been unable to get past 1851 in my research. I can trace everyone from me up until 1851. I have done various spellngs of Golding. Paid professionals to help, and still no joy. He has two places of birth on two different census'. One says Cheltenham and another says Kensington. There are some middle names for him as well, they are \william Arnold Pearcy. I have tried Arnold and Pearcy in case they were his mothers maiden name and so on. His marriage certificate states that his father was a jeweller. I think that may be a bit of authors licence. The area where we all seem to have ended up is South London. But where he started from heaven only knows. Such a convoluted story I know, but every now and then I have a renewed feeling of anticipation and just have to give it another go. Thanks for looking.
