BLUE SAVANNAH

There are two marriages of Ann Harris

Ann Harris married Oxford St Aldate John Boswell 6/9/1789

Ann Harris married Headington James Bussell 3/4/1790

both families had children in the same parishes as their marriages took place and the same time, so a different Ann Harris each time.

Hi Margaret

I didnt know at all that there were two Ann Harris'. I think I have got the wrong marriage. The second one to James Bussell in Headington would now seem the most likely one, especially as their sone James was born in Headington the same year.

Thank you so much for clarifying that for me.

Kind Regards
Claire

BLUE SAVANNAH

There is only one baptism as spelled

An Harris bapt 15/3/1772 Headington daughter of Robert

a later baptism to Robert gives a wife Martha.

No Boswell nor similar correct for your James in Heading nor Oxford St Aldates.

Shame you chose that marriage, could have done a good deal better with the John and Ann in St Aldates..... LOL

Regret not having better news.

Hi Margaret

Thank you for looking for baptisms of James and Ann. Trust me to have picked the harder of the two marriage couples to trace but looking at where children were born, the Headington couple do seem to be mine :(

I believe that James and Ann had four children. James Jnr, Ann, William and Richard between 1790 and 1800 in Headington. Would you have any records that show their baptism or if I have possibly missed any children?

Kind Regards
Claire

Hello Margaret

Many thanks for confirming those baptisms for me of the children of James & Ann.

I just now need to try and determine where James & Ann were born and where they died :(

Their son James married in Wootton, Oxon (all mine ended up here before moving to Yorkshire lol). Im not sure his parents came to Wootton but also not sure they stayed in Headington.

Thanks again for all your help :)

Kind Regards
Claire

Hi Margaret

If you can provide dates and any other details of any of these, I would be very grateful:

Baptism of Ethel Elizabeth Arnott, born 1868, Cowley.

Marriage of Joseph James Arnott and Elizabeth Bason (or Beason), 1866 or 1867, Oxford area.

Marriage of William Arnott and Martha Arlidge, 1843, Oxford area.

Marriage of James Arlidge (spelling of surname may have been different, possibly Aldridge) and Elizabeth (surname unknown), between 1802 and 1810 in the Banbury area?

Thanks,

Steve
