HI Jean

Ive checked for all Williams returning Boston, but none fit the age you have given. There are no Ann Atkinsons returning from Boston either.
Do you have a birth year for Ann and an occupation for William.

Regards
Julia

Hi Marcie

You dont give birth dates for either of them and they are both quite common names.

If Thomas Edwards came back with the army he wont be on these lists as they are commercial listings rather than military.

Julia

Hi Julia

Thanks for your kind offer.

I wondered whether you could find the Hall family for me.

William H (Ithink is Henry) HALL b abt1856 Sheffield, Yorkshire
Annie E Hall b abt 1856 Sheff, Yorks
William HALL 1876 Sheff
Herbert Hall 1879 Sheff

William Snr's occ is Blacksmith on the passenger lists going out to the USA from Liverpool to New York in 1879 but haven't had any luck as to when they came back sometime around 1890 as on English 1891 census.

Should be three more children with them one of whom is a Bertha.

Thanks

Kaz :o)

Hello Julia.
I wonder if you can help.I am trying to find our grt grandfather Harry Arthur Chadwick, all we have is his marriage cert,1896,in Glasgow,to Agnes Nelson Watson. His occupation was Railway Engine Driver,he was age 32,and his parents were Charles Chadwick, and Marianne Girt, from Leeds,England,[ so his date of birth must have been 1864]
BUT 21 days after his marriage we found him as a passenger,28th feb 1896,on board the Isle Of Dursey, sailing from Glasgow, bound for Chinde.
He was age 32,and there was only 3 passengers, and his occupation was Engineer.
What happened to him after that is a mystery, as his wife Agnes was a widow still living in Glasgow in 1901 census, with son Harry age 4.
so when and where did he die?did he ever come home? we would love to solve this puzzle. Gillian.

Lea Report 5 Feb 2009 10:08

Hello Julia,
Could you please do a look up for me.

I am looking for a Frederick Harris. Born around 1880, and arriving in England between 1898 and 1901 from South Africa. These dates aren't certain but I don't want to send you on a wild goose chase either. His father was a Private in the Cape Mounted Police, although I don't know if he was in South Africa alone or with his family.

I have no idea if Frederick was travelling alone or with family members. There may be a butchery connection too.

Thank you for your help, but if you have no luck, don't give yourself a headache for my part.
Thanks again, Lea
