mother was Mary Ann franklin .Johns mother was from Hook Norton her maiden name was Hannah Randall.As you said i wonder if Ellen had already died before John .Now all i need is to see which Ellen i go for but i have birth date as 1851/52 so that narrows it down and before 1923 .Any help you can give on 3 sons would make my day .

if John smith is burried in Arley how do i go about finding his grave .Also do you think Ellen would have been burried there so as they together if children burried them .The death for Ellen birthdate 1852 death 1917 Banbury looks like the best bet .but then
i wonder if John and Ellen were there and some of the children were in Arley thats why John went .
Would they Bury Ellen in Arley so as she near or

Most odd i can't see a birth record for Alfred?Do you know of any middle name-which maybe his real 1st name?I have found a 1891 and ir has a George as father he was missing on the 1901 but wife Kate(Catherine) was listed as married and i have found a poss death for him in 1912.

Here is the 1891 poss-name mistranscribed.The only prob is having trouble finding Jane and Joseph on the 1901 as they are not with the family and also can't see births for Alfred,Jane and Joseph???So maybe this family either had these children elsewhere than England or their births were recorded using different 1st names than the 1's on the census's which maybe is their middle names?

I would advise you as you know where John died to work from there.Contact the cemetary in that area and ask them whether they hold records for that time and whether they have John Smith buried there.Once you know where he is buried you may then find Ellen.Burial records is not my area sorry.I would adivse you to post a thread on the Records Office board and ask if anyone has burial records for Nuneaton area.If no luck with this then i would advise you to take a risk and obtain the death record for Ellen.May help to rule this 1 out.

Thanks for your offer of help.
I have a Harry Binley,born c1860 and I need to find where he was born to be sure I have the right guy.

He married Ann Maria / Annie Mortiboys on 2/4/1885 in Kings Norton , Warwickshire .

They had children , Annie 1886, Harry 1887,
Lottie 1888, John 1890, Mabel 1894, Percy 1900.

Hopefully the 1891 and 1901 census will show where Harry was born .

My research suggests Sussex but 2 of his Grandchildren , now in thier 80's think he was born in Newport , South Wales .

Hi Michelle,

James Gaunt born c1814 married Mary Trueman (Truman) in 1861. Had son John Gaunt born 1845 who married Caroline Shilvock born 1846.

On 1851 Census a daughter Ann aged 11 was mentioned along with Betsey aged 9.

On 1871 Census Ann is now an Ann Houghton aged 31 along with a John Houghton? is this her son/partner?

Also on the 1861 Census Betsey is now Elizabeth is that normal practice?

Are there are further records before 1851 of James Gaunt?

Regarding the Galvin side Eileen (my mother in law) told me the details of the births and deaths but no certificates. He father and mothers details were correct apart from the possibility Flinn could have been spelt differently.
