Hi Kirsty

Thank you for the offer. This one is driving me mad ! I am looking for John James Cockburn / coburn born 1845 in Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire on the 1861 Census.

He should be living with his father Edward who is married but his wife Jane Haines is a visitor in Portsea at time of the census. Edward was born approx 1808 in Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampsire. His occupation is a Carpenter.

John had 2 sisters Elizabeth Mary Haines Cockburn born 1842 in Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire & Jane Selina Cockburn born 1848 in Strand, London, Middlesex.

On the 1851 census they were living in Liberty of The Rolls, Middlesex.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Chris

Right back again Kirsty..had a couple of those RESOLVE sachets in the cupboard, i was "giving it large" last night and i'm not the party animal i used to be! lol

That is Charles and i'm only really guessing that John and Susan are his parents,,the reason i'm trying to attach him to my Summerfields is because on the 1901 he is living in the same road as a family THE MARTINS who fostered a child by an ADA MARY BROWN(summerfield)
the little girl is down as Florrie Martin, not true she was a BROWN!!

So i'm really just trying to find a connection with CHARLES and ADA? can you find anything on John Summerfield 1839 Bristol?

SHOULD I GIVE UP?

Dave,

if you got the death cert for Frederick that might give you a clue to children/marriage etc. You will know who registered the death.

I am trying to find Jonathon & Elizabeth but am not having much luck at the moment.

Have you tried this site
www.familysearch.org

I will keep trying for you and will get in touch again if I have any luck
