i think that the birth cert is a bit of fabrication.

right i have cross checked marriages for william Pickett & Kate Spence
from 1878 ~ 1883 nothing.

I am wondering if

Pickett was Kate's maiden name and Spence was the fathers as they were not married??????

i cant find a marriage for william and kate.
2 yrs later in 1885 kate married a james yorke
