Hi Kirsty

My name is Derek Crabtree and looking for relatives before 1820.
Jonathan Crabtree born 1820 in Hebdon Bridge, Yorkshire.
Apparent two wives; Mary Allison 1831 And Jane Ellison 1845 I think both were born in Bishop Aukland, Durham.
Between them they had 10 Children.
As far as I am aware Jonathans farther was also a Jonathan and possible wife Betty.
His Father was born about 1808 and married around 1742ish
Hope you can help

Kirsty

Would you like a challenge?? My gt grandmother is a non-person before her marriage.

My gt grandparents Walter Jarrett and Charlotte Maria Doncaster were married in December 1902 Marylebone. Charlotte's father was down as William Henry Doncaster decd - one of the witnesses was a W H Doncaster - possibly brother?

Walter Jarrett born 1876 Marylebone - can't find him on the 1901 census.

Charlotte Maria Doncaster born 1879 Kensington according to the 1911 census. Can't find any birth details for her or any census return that links her to any parents. The other two Charlotte Doncasters born around that time in Hackney and Lambeth have the wrong fathers.

I have found a Charlotte Doncaster in a nursing home in Herne Bay in 1881, a Maria Doncaster in an orphanage in 1891 and can't find either a Maria or Charlotte in 1901.

Charlotte would have been about 5/6 months pregnant with their first child at the time of the 1901 census. She lied in the 1911 census and said she's been married 13 years when she had only been married 9.

There is a birth registration for a Maria Doncaster in 1879 in Kensington - birth certificate has parents as Henry Doncaster and Susan Savill - address 16 Hayden Mews, Kensington. These Doncasters in 1881 have no Maria with them but they do have a son called William (possibly the witness at the marriage).

If you have time could you see if you could find them on the 1901 census.
There is a Walter Jarrett with a wife Elizabeth in 1901 but he's from Nottingham - so don't think he's mine.

Charlotte's doing my head in - if she weren't already dead I'd throttle her!

Thanks
Dee

Kirsty , bless your cotton socks! didn't have siblings,William,Jane orJames.and neither did anyone else!! The only info i have on Lillias.s husband is on nans marriage cert,,

James Thompson Arnold ,1884 Ferry Engine Keeper, i thought the THOMPSON might have been an error as Lillias was a Thomson!

but my uncle was a Thompson, so i know i have the correct name,
I have been told he was born in Ireland and went Scotland for work have no idea if this was with family, or on his own... thinking about it getting my nans birth cert but won't tell me his birth place , will it? i would love to start on the Irish side but just cant pin him down..gill

another thought do you know when & where they died?

You might want to put a thread up asking for someone to search the Scottish people's site if they stayed in Scotland
