Vivienne I have spent holidays in Scotland, my son lives there.
He took me to the large registery house in Edinburgh, we spent 2 days there, we also went to Fort George in Inverness, to the Seaforth Highlanders museum there, it was all very interesting but not of much help to me.Viv I still feel that you found the right family with Donald and Kate from Tarbat but I dont know how to follow it up from there, I know Ishbel was not a good lead for us as she had no children which was a shame, I wonder what happened to Donald junior.
I hope your Ishbel is behaving herself, I am glad you like the name see we do have something in common as well as screaming when we hear the name Macleod.

I will return to scotlandspeople and try to find marriages for some of the others,although I do think I have done that before and will have to go through this thread to look to make sure,and my records on SP.

Hector Ian Macleod was a lance corporal in South African Infantry 4th Reg
He died 12/10/1916 aged 21
He was the son of Rev. Donald and Mrs Kate Macleod of Tarbat Ross-shire and was obviously uncle to this child.

Ishbel has told me that I have to spend tomorrow on her famil,y as I have now caught up on most of my work.
I shall be contacting Ireland about Duncan mcleod.
I will be writing to Rev john macleod in Tarbat,he will be sick of hearing from us all soon.
I do wish I knew his age as I would try and find out how he is connected to the Rev Donald Macleod.
I will also try and find more marriages etc for the rest of Kate and Donalds kids.
So really my day has been mapped out for me.
We can but try.

Any leads on Hector Mcmurchie{1915}??I have not found a marriage for him of course as SP marriages only go to 1933.
Maybe you should write to Edinbrough?
