Have you found any marriages for a Stanley Greenhalgh? I wonder if he were married before and that's why you can't find his marriage to Yvonne. He would have been 39 by the time Michael was born. Hard to imagine he'd managed to stay a bachelor all those years.

I realise the mmn is given as Gore but does the birth cert say formerly Gore or previously Gore as you have typed.

As a birth cannot be found under the name Gore, maybe she was just calling herself Gore.

Have you searched for a death for Stanley Edward?

I have found no marraige for Stanley at all- Even if Stanley had married previously he wouldn't have changed his name so that would not effect searching presumably...?

As for birth cert- its says Yvonne May Greenhalgh- Formoely GORE

I'm going to go search the elcetoral registers to see if this sheds any light on the situation??

that really is where my knowledge ends....? I have exhausted all avenue to search and drew up blank- I'm going to wait for certs to arrive and see if that helps me any further...?

I am searching for deaths- am starting at 1953 and working my way forward.....

Now, it is highly likely that his birth was registered in the 3rd qtr (Jul-Aug-Sept) as his date of birth was at the end of June and.........it is just as possible that the person who registered the death got the year wrong by 1 year.

My best bet is that it is the Stanley E Greenhalgh with mothers maiden name Birdwhistle...........for what it's worth! It would appear to be the only one with a Welsh connection too.

1953 An EDWARD and YVONNE Greenhalgh lives in the pub mentioned previously after that they dissapear!!! S no help to me

My theroy:

Yvonne was married previously as Patricia (daughter) was not born a Greenhalgh, thats why we have no records, i think Stanley could have possibly had a previous marraige also from record i'm pulling up

I don't think Yvonne had been married before because Gore is listed as the maiden name and is also Patricia's surname.

I think you need to continue your search for Stanley E Greenhalgh marriages. You need to include years after 1953 in case he obtained a divorce or his first wife died.

I have looked for a marriage from 1953 - 1971 but couldn't find one for Stanley Edward Greenhalgh............but that is not to say that I didn't somehow miss it!

i researched that marriage Greenhalgh to jones and i found

EMILY G JONES same district and St Ash like you put??

So.................no birth record for Yvonne Gore.....but
there is this in Sept QTR of 1919:
