I have somehow been very lucky to have found this tonight. I am researching the Kraus family too Anthony. My Dad, Keith is the son of Arthur Kraus & Dorothea Marshall from Middlesbrough.

William Henry KRAUS born 12 June 1857 in Middlesbrough, son of John George KRAUS (I believe of German birth but unsure) and Mary FOLK (per William's marriage certificate the mother's maiden name was VOLK), married on 2 October 1891 to Mary Jane WILSON (born 1864 Haddington, East Lothian) in Lochee, Dundee. I'm looking to confirm who WIlliam's parents were and where they came from in Germany and when they arrived in Britain. Also I believe that William's daughter Mary Margaret KRAUS married his borther's son Charles Kraus. I'd like to confirm that Charles KRAUS' father was John George KRAUS, the brother of WIlliam Henry KRAUS. I cannot find the KRAUS family (either branch) in the 1861 census. Many thanks!
