Richard W Cooley b 1884 has world war one papers he was in the labour core. He lost a toe due to frost bite.

His marraige is listed as 3 Jan 1909, two children John Edward 19.5.1911 and James 21.7.1913, Eleanor is at the bottom 22 June 1901 not noted as daughter or sister, unfortunately no places of birth.

There is a private family tree for Richard W Cooley born 1886 Bethnal Green on Ancestry.

It may be a wild goose chase but there is an Ellen Eleanor Collins registered Bethnal Green Mar Q 1901 Vol 1c page 192

I am wondering if the original was mis transcribed...

I did a search of Mile End & Bethnal Green for Ellen/Eleanor/Nellie and this one stuck out - especially as you have Eleanor Nellie which is an unusual combination

Regards

Peter

MQ 1901 would have been too early if her birthdate was 22nd June 1901 as suggested in her father's military paperwork.

Thanks Pam and Peter for your replies

Regarding Ancestery Im not a member of that site, but I think I should consider Joining just in the hope that I could find something else out, and yes Im not sure that she was that birth in March 1901, as what Deborah posted last night,

The Richard W Cooley's war records was her Brother, as per the 1911 Census, I think that she lived with him as both her Parents had died by then,

But I must say I am thinking that she may have been adopted ? But I am going to look through the birth records again today for June and see if anything jumps out (fingers crossed)

Thanks
Deb

You may have this but it looks like James married 1910 to a Florence and they have have Michael Cooley with them 1911 cencus living MEOT.
Michael born 1895
James 1887.
That is another 2 members of your family - if you bought a copy of James marriage the witnesses may help you.

My grandfather and his brother's births were never registered.
I do not know why these things happen but it is very frustrating I know as I have been there to.

Thanks Irene

I dont have any of her Brothers Mariage Certificates, Just her mum and dad's

Yes you are right it is very frustrating but its not only her Birth I cant find It is also her Death,

That could be a strong possibility that her Birth was not registered as I can only find one of her Brother's birth . The whole family is a bit of a mystery.

First sorry for not getting back yesterday spent most of it up the hospital with my son who had a allergy in one of his eyes. Anyway

Thanks Rootgather, yes I think it may be worth ago in checking the irish birth indexes, as I still cant find anything in England for her, And going by what Deborah said regarding her brother's war records her birth was on the 22nd June 1901 so I am getting a little closer.

And Moody Blue

Thanks for the Information on the Death for her sister. I do have all her Brother's and Sister's death's but yes you guessed it Not Eleanor's :)

And Irene thanks for that possible death

And choccy thanks for ruleing that one out that one out

Thanks again for all your help with this one and I can sort of see a little light in the distance at the end of the tunnel
