Helen Report 21 Aug 2010 09:12

Hi Lorraine

Thank you for the offer.

I am looking for information on Albert (Burley) Kingston b 1873 Somerset England.

I found an entry on the arrival Vancouver passenger list Albert Bert Kingston aged 56, he is entry 29, a farmer and widower, English, last residence looks like: Saak Grant Falls, listed as his nearest living relative in country as Thomas in Manitou, final destination Los Angeles. Arrival date June 1921. Seattle passenger and crew lists. Any other place that you think "Saak Grant Falls" is much appreciated.

Thomas was his brother and he lived in Manitou when he first arrived.

Emigration to Canada around 1897.

I would like to know who and when and where he married, did he have children and where he lived and died?

Any information much appreciated.

Hi Lorraine,

I have found a Guiseppe Scopez arriving in New York, 17th Jan, 1921 aged 23 onboard the Belvedere.

I did not find him on the 1930 Census, can you find a death, marriage or a departure for him, possibility returning to Italy?

I found a Manuel Scopez on the 1920 Census, is he the same as on the 1930 Census, I found a Manuelo, Rosa Lorezo & Roberto can you please give me the details of where they were born, or any other details that you can find.

Thanks again

Lorraine,

Thanks for your quick response. There are severals variations in the spelling of the surname - my father in law spelt surname as Scopez, his father's birth was Skopez on his marriage was Skopec, I think there was also a spelling of Skopaz.

Also Skopas

This is why I am having trouble finding any family.

Thanks again

Lorraine

Lorraine,

Thank you for the information on Annie Skopez.

Can you please tell me what country the family emigrated from in 1882?

Do you have any information on her late husband? Where he was born, when he died, etc.

Just another query, is there any Skopez' still living in the U.S., I am trying to contact them to see if there is any family connection.

Any information would be great

Thanks again

Sorry Lorraine, was called away, family emergency. Am back now.

Yes that is the right couple. Birth Indiana is actually British India, they were both born there. She was Mary Haller but all other documentation shows her as Marie.

This is the last sighting of them and I can't find them on any other passenger lists so assumed they died in USA but don't know what state.

Thank you so much for looking though. Now stumped.

Hi Lorraine

I am looking for John Henry REAN and his wife Marie (or Mary/Maria).

They were born and married in India and then moved to the states in the 20s. He used to be an engineer.

I have a 1930 Census record for Marin County, California which shows them living in rented accommodation and John is working as a Nurseryman, he is in his 50s.

I am looking for a date of death for them both. I believe that there were no children of the marriage. I have no way of knowing whether they remained in California or not.
Hope you can help.
Kind regards

Ann

Hi Lorraine
Thanks for your efforts but it is a William Walker that I am trying to trace, mistake probably due to my garbled information, sorry.
I have since found more information. birth registered as 15th March 1845, name William Walker, though his marriage cert names him as William Thomas Walker. Birthplace Cleobury Mortimer, Stottesden Shropshire.
Fathers Name William Walker.
Mothers name Elizabeth Dallow (I think, birth cert difficult to read).
Wife Ann or Annie Duce. Williams 2nd wife.
He left for Canada sometime after 1887, when his last son was born. Once again any help would be most appreciated. thanks John
