hi
if you have a chance could you check for james mitlon on passenger lists to Quebec. It is listed on ancestry.com but i do not have international coverage for the site. He was born in London /middx 9/8 1869 occupation gardener. The family believes he died after an accident involving a threshing machine but i have no concrete proof of this.

Is he perhaps listed i nthe 1911 canadian census? any help very much appreicated.

Hi Lorraine,

I can only view the free bit,

I did find a Cornelius Baker but he's in Glamorgan. His wife came from Monmouthshire, so I suppose he could have visited them prior to his visit to his mother and then died en-route.

Hi Lorraine, could be any of the following;

Wife Lydia b 1850 Wales UK
son Arthur b 1872 Wales UK
son Edward b 1883 Pennsylvania USA

I know he came over in 1898 (I have those details -I think you gave them to me thanks ) just prior to his father's death. I found a Cornelius Baker's death in England in Kensington in Dec Q 1912 and as his mother died in 1912 wondered if he came over to see her and subsequently died here too.

as far as i know all passengers are listed but may just be listed a mr or mrs kelman for example, He will be listed someone but unfortuantly i cant find him on the records i access to, maybe you could ask for a lookup for russian passenger lists on records thread, i couldnt see him before the 1891 either, so the time frame would be between 1882 and 1891 hope you find them good luck .

Hi Lorraine

I am back again !

Is there anything on these two marriages-Ontario Canada

Adolphe Debrusk and Mary Rousak=sometime 1850-1865-first child found born 1866

and
Michael Debrusk and Annie Sterzic-around 1890s ?

Cheers

Susan

Susan Report 22 Jul 2010 12:37

Lorraine, thank you for your search.
Is it true that sometimes a group went on board and only one person was actually registered? or maybe he came over on freight not actually a lsited passenger? just a thought,
He does not appear on any UK Census before 1891. Don't tell me this is going to be yet another mystery and brickwall? lol
