Do you know if John Edward and Ada had any more children after John Kenneth? If so you can look their births up on FreeBMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk - the mother's maiden name is shown post 1911 and would help verify the 1902 marriage.

I've only got as far back as Richard & Elizabeth.
I just don't know much about the Fitton side at all. I've even asked my mum but she doesn't even know anything :(
All I know about my grandad, John Kenneth Fitton is what I put in the original post. I don't even know when he had the garage on Market Street, Droylsden. So as you can see I haven't much to work with at all I'm afraid. :( :( :(

Paula, I'd be inclined to buy John Edward and Ada's marriage certificate to be 100% sure who his father was, you can then work back with more confidence.

The census posted with Richard and Elizabeth as parents do look strong possibilities but it's up to you whether you want to take that chance.

Hi, thanks for the info. I'm looking into a possibility that I maybe related to Mary Fitton, the Dark Lady who was One of Shakespeare's Sonnets.
I don't have anybody to ask about this as my dad & his parents are no longer with us. The only remaining members left are my dads sisters & his brother. The eldest is to ill to ask & the others are to young to know as I've already tried & they don't know anything.

As Reggie says, have you done any further research on this family? There is not point to people searching for information that you have probably found since your first post.
