The answer to this question may lie amongst the many posts in this thread but I can’t see it

Has anyone looked for a death for Sarah in Oz? The death certificate might throw up lots more information?

Colin, you're sounding quite 'lucid', that holiday must have done you good.

Oh and if you want 'dumps of the world' try Miami....yak

Meanwhile back to the movie...that was my suggestion I think Colin - how very dare you!!

Hi Lindsey
Its good to get your wise advice.

I agree that I was sure that the info on walters birth certificate was true so Walter had to have been here in early 1911 for him to have fathered my dad. It looks less likely with every day that goes by that he was ever in Aus or if he was it was'nt in early 1911.

What you have suggested is what I am trying to find given the local resources in our state Library.

Its nearly 8pm our time and I am reviewing a lot of info I gathered today but one fact has hit me in the face and that is according to electoral information in late 1913, before the birth of madge jane weeks in 1914, Sarah, Tom Weeks and Charles Lovell, all of them in their late twenties, were in the Williams area.

This was not then nor is it today a major population centre so its a good bet they new each other.

More of this later.

I will try and relate what dates and movements happened to give us all a better picture of Sarah from 1913 onward.

I still have no factual date of arrival in fremantle or where she lived and with whom.

The address of 98 chelmesford Rd exists but in 1913 a Walter R Birch lived there and in 1914 a Mrs Alcock was the resident. Did she board for a short time?

Another dead end.

Oh well a little sleep and a brand new day will allow me to write this up in full and who knows it might spark some-one in the team to trigger of a new insight.

Bye for now ..............colin

Welcome back Colin

Well , the more I look, the more I find your romantic version of your Walter story on countless sites going back for years.I think we can all agree it is spectacularly WRONG. You have been repeating it for so long I think you believe it to be the truth.

As we shred each point and prove to you that A is wrong you then go off at a tangent, trying to prove it must be X<Y<Z instead.

A] You need to concentrate on when Sarah last lived in, and left England,
{whether alone or with Walter}

B] When Sarah first turned up in Australia
from her marriage until Charles' birth

C] Remove the three children you suppose Sarah had until you have the birth certs. Do not break the first rule of adding anyone to your tree until you have the evidence in you hand. Stop guessing.

Find yourself a friendly librarian and don't muddy the water by trying to prove your theories.

On now to the major insults. I cant answer them all because I'd be here all day.

Incidentally I must be good therapy for all of you and I've convinced myself you have all got a good home life through venting your tension and frustrations on me

Am I "an attention seeker" - Nope well no more so than the average person in fact the opposite is true I like to be unobtrusive until I know people and even then am a little circumspect. I do enjoy a laugh and joke but not normally at some-one elses expense.

Am I "on crack / acid" - No again. Never have never will. I do like an occasional wine or beer. Hate cigarettes.

"Having a friend no one can see." - No again. I'm not delusional in any way.
I am more than happy to say I have an enquiring mind which comes from inquisitiveness and imagination but no more than Lindsey's flight into fancy . Sherga buried under the car. My god, I really liked that and the irish connection to bali Hi -Now include Ballimore- IRA- Sherga .
I sense a new film coming on.

"Bin it and start again" - Not bloody likely- there are over 240 entries some going back 5 generations and most of them accurate.

Well that gets us off to a new start in this new year and I paraphrase Forkner

"Lets toast the new year,
but not to our pasts which are weak and indefensible
nor to the present which again is not completely beyond reproach
but let us drink to the new year which thank god is still pristine and immaculate".

This to me gives us some hope of good to come........colin

Well I am off to our State Library on tuesday where I will build more info on the Lovell connection (in both senses) as well as chasing up info on Madge Jane Weeks birth certificate.
I hope to write my initial findings early next week .

Gird yourself for further flights into fantasy and by the way when I direct the film suggested by lindsey I want you all on board.

Happy New Year

Lindsey - Walter Levi juniors birth certificate info.

I'm in the clear on this one.

All of the information previously given is accurate and does not need to be repeated here.

To remove any doubt about the certificate and to include the additional info you want,... the certificate is numbered 729/11
There are two pertinent questions ......they are;
Question 6 (3) Previous issue living - answer, nil and Question 6 (4) Previous issues deceased - answer, three.
These seem to be sensible questions and I am surprised they are not used elsewhere. Perhaps an improvement from the colonies.

Finally - not sure when it arrived but cert. 655955 got here confirming your information on walden - cox marriage.

Lindsey - The death at sea issue.

I am guilty as charged Ginny hit the nail on the head when she said I looked to be getting information from another source.

I have been collecting bits and pieces over many years and although I initially had the information that there were only 3 children deceased I had selected from the BMD information which I thought to be accurate. It did not include Sidney.

A better researcher than I was at that time gave me the information which I accepted as being true and have not questioned it until now.

I have returned my tree to the initial three I earlier selected and before any-one jumps on me I know I have to get the records to confirm the accuracy.

Colin Report 2 Jan 2010 02:44

Now back to where we left off.

Let me clear up the misunderstanding about the posting issue with which you have all had a lot of fun.

The start of the conversation goes back to Ginny when she asked about shipping records for Sarah.I said then and I say again Idon't know how to do it.

I was talking about getting info from Ancestry or any other supplier of records and transferring the info directly to my tree.

This was what I was talking about when Ginny used the term " posting"

I have tried to do this a couple of times and have lost the info completely. Its gone to the black hole in my computer never to be retrieved by mere mortals. Computer experts would no doubt be able to recover it but not me - not yet anyway.

I explained then that I now write info down, from the source, that I think is important. I then transfer it to this thread or to my tree.

I thought that would have been suffient info for you to understand what I meant but you all joined in to have a little bit of fun at my expense. Its a good thing I've just had a holiday or I might have added a rude word.

I'll break this reply up into parts so it doesn't get too confusing.

Hi all,
I'm back and nearly ready to go a few more rounds with you.
Bali in the major towns is dirty smelly and contains a lot of people all trying to make money one way or another through tourism. Get out into the mountains and see the true Bali. Beautiful people, great religion, wonderful views and at higher altitudes comfortable temperatures for Aussies. Coffee plantations that I would love to own, to work with chocolate and ginger plants and produce the most refreshing drinks.
The lakes and waterfalls at the higher altitudes have to be seen to be believed and white water rafting is not only for the young- a great experience.

Next we have the tale of Walter in Wormwood scrubs,

this might just be him, name spelt with an O age 16?
Colin has connected him to George Wilson, Sarah's brother

{Father John Wilson, coal porter dec'd, family together on 1891 census}

Walter apparently jailed as a lookout for future brother-in-law George's crime.?

Yet again very unlikely , further investigation shows that the George Wilson in prison is born in Forest Gate not Fulham. opposite ends of London ?

Bali Hai, ballyhoo, Fantasy Island !

Gee

Gee Report 22 Dec 2009 07:36

Yeah, heres one suggestion....'Bin' the tree and start again!

That cannot be correct, where on earth has Colin got that info from? Colin are you just connecting any 'Walden' born/died in Fulham with your family?

Hope the weathers better in Bali, we have a foot of snow here and it's been like that for the last four days!

While Colin's away I thought I'd check up on the " Tree" children supposedly born in England to Sarah and Walter

First we have Walter Harry born dec 1905 died jun 1906

Then there is James Philip born Dec 1908 died Sept 1909

Then there is Sidney Harry , born fully formed 3 months after James in March 1909 died Mar 1910

any suggestions ? a miracle !

and there's more !

Quoting Stevenson along with others won’t get you the answers to your family dilemmas.

You may think we are being harsh and unfeeling but I think you know in your heart of hearts that we are just printing the truth, however hard that is to accept.

Have a good holiday and a peaceful Christmas

I'm in a rush now .

Have to head for the airport

Too many questions to answer before the new year when I'll give you my side of the story.

I have plagiarised some beautiful thoughts which I send to all of you.

May the forgiving spirit of HIM to whom we dedicate this season prevail again over the earth.
May hateful persecution and wanton aggression cease.
May we all live in freedom and security worshipping as we see fit and loving our fellow man
Let the sanctity of our personal thoughts be ever preserved
And peace through understanding reign over man.

These thoughts apply particularly well to this thread at the present time.

Merry Christmas to all .............colin

I understand in the first instance that you wouldn’t buy certificates you don’t need to have, but you DO need to have some sort of proven direction in your search Colin..........but this far in and with sooooo much support you need to go back to the basics of research and that means BUYING certificates

Without this info you will be searching this time next year and the year after and.......

Do you like the attention this thread gives you, or do you REALLY want to find your history...I won’t tell you what I do for a career!!!

Enjoy Bali; I can’t see anything more happening for your home coming.

You can’t post the info on here (caus you don’t know how lol) that you posted on your OWN tree.......... NO one else has access to your own tree, let alone knows your family.

And, if Sydney was born and died the year that I posted then how the hell can he have died on ‘ship’? YOU say, she travelled to oz in 1911???????????????

Are you on 'Crack/Acid' or what mate (Normally I would say 'hun', but am translating for you)

Ginny

PS; Thank You for 'paragraphing'...it really helps

 Lindsey*

Lindsey* Report 19 Dec 2009 21:34

Exactly my point Ginny, Without buying the certificate there is no way of knowing who Sidney was related to..... oh dear not again

It looks as if Colin has grabbed some more BMD records and made them his own, Actually he's missed a couple ,hypothetically she could have a football team, but hey let's not muddy the waters further. The incredible Walden sperm bank is looking a bit depleted at the moment.

I've been trawling the interweb and find several other sites with entries over the last few months by Colin, all repeating the same fairy story, not surprising nobody has found anything concrete. I think this is a case of wanting the story to so badly be true, like having an imaginary friend that none else can see.

Lindsey, you have copied info from Colin's tree, however I cant see anywhere where it states he died at sea on the death record I have posted? Although this would be verified by the certificate.

Also, no record on Ancestry for the embarcation in London for Freemantle?

Colin, is this something you have documentation on? If you are getting this info from someone else......I doubt VERY much it's correct.

You know you cant trust everything online, even people who might be giving you info, they could be telling you anything, just for the sake, or they could just be really cr#p at research.

At least here, you have three people who are well known to research and why would all three people tell lies?

I understand your desperation to find your family and heritage but it has to be correct
