Yes Jeanie, Mr C. featured in the film.

Just been for blood test - bad timing, it'll probably be neat alcohol !

Glad you posted Sylvia. I was early to bed and late to rise so AWOL from duties last night. I'll be off to see if anything else needs to rise to the top.

It must have been the film on TV Michael. Was Mr. C song in that?

I haven't Chicago, either on stage or film

That's a nice song

I think we can all relate to it at times

Yeah, that's the one.

Brilliant show ....film not as good, (mainly because they cut some of the best songs)

Stuck for words? Chicago:

Amos:
If someone stood up in a crowd
And raised his voice up way out loud
And waved his arm and shook his leg
You'd notice him

If someone in the movie show
Yelled "Fire in the second row
This whole place is a powder keg!"
You'd notice him

And even without clucking like a hen
Everyone gets noticed, now and then,
Unless, of course, that personage should be
Invisible, inconsequential me!

Cellophane
Mister Cellophane
Shoulda been my name
Mister Cellophane
'Cause you can look right through me
Walk right by me
And never know I'm there...

Hi Sylvia

This one has been sorely neglected after last night's flurry of activity. I'll take a look at Susan's thread again now but I thought GR said it was a technical glitch.

Jeanie

Edit: Yep - that's what it said.

Dear Susan

Thanks for your email

I am sorry for the delay in replying. As you are aware we have now reinstated your thread. It looks like it's removal was a technical glitch, it had not been reported as abusive. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Do you see the NOT reported as abusive. Think GR has a software problem.

Edit: I'm hoping Ginny gets the same message then we can all be satisfied that there is not a nasty spiteful person about getting threads deleted.

SylviaInCanada Report 1 Jul 2010 21:42

No

they do not give a reason

nor do they tell you that a thread or posting has been removed

UNLESS it has been removed because someone has complained that it is too abusive ....... then GR will tell you that you have been banned for a period of time

Jeanie

........ it really cannot be because ti is too long. That is a fallacy that some people keep saying.

There are threads on General and Chat that are 600 pages long.

Someone has clicked on the Request Review button, typed in some very good sounding reason why the thread should be removed (very abusive; against the T&C's because xxxxxxx; "I find this personally offensive/ derogatory to me", etc etc)

Then the moderators at GR click on the delete button without reading anything to see whether the reporting was correct.

You can really tell that is what happens when you read the email that GR has just sent Susan, and that she ahs posted on the thread

Hi Sylvia

So it's GR striking again. Maybe because it had become so long. It was something like 220 pages or so. Remember you saying about a bet you had with yourself that it would be over 3000 by the time you got back from your trip.

The answer to your question Michael is 'Yes - probably'.

Just got back on. Going to have a look at the rest now.

I would have thought GR would have to give a reason why they are deleting a thread ... or is that too much to expect ?

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 1 Jul 2010 19:48

Michael

whooshed, and replaced with a new thread, same title, on TTF

she has contacted GR to see if they will tell her why.

we're all slowly meeting up on there again :))))
