Trying to locate any Jordan descended from the families from Goldhanger Essex. My paternal grandfather Samuel 1874 had 3 sisters Alice 1869 Ellen 1876 Kate 1878 married to William Wade plus 2 brothers Frank 1880 and Walter 1866. |

Mike, have you tried "search trees" (above) to see if anyone shares these ancestors? |

Thanks for that. I have had a search go and have found quite a bit of commonality with other trees but most of the family seam to have diverged quite early. |

Mike, looks like you need to work your way forward in time then! Do you have this in 1911? |

Thanks so much. Lots of families seem to lose contact. My grandfather Samuel Jordan 1874 was killed in 1940 when his farm at Stanford-Le-Hope was bombed just before I was born, and I never heard anything about his brothers and sisters from my father Arthur Jordan 1905 so it would be nice to trace them. |

I wish you luck Mike - don't give up. I had been a member for about 5 years when out of the blue found my husband's half-sister on here! We knew nothing about her. My family was a split up as could be, but since starting this cousins have been popping up on a regular basis, which is great. So never too late. |

Thanks Anne of Green Gables for your info. I have now realised that there were 2 Jordan families in Goldhanger in 1881.My Great Grandfather's in Fish Street and my Great Uncle's in Church Street and they both had 6/7 children. |

Anthony, it's a few years since Mike last posted on this thread so he may not see your reply. |
