Thanks for your help. I checked on FMP overseas/army and found a record that matches Charlotte but nothing for John. I found since I first posted that George's mother is Catherine and my Gt.Gt Grandfather married Susannah later. I sent for Charlottes army birth certificate (1822), mother listed is Mary! Its amazing that I have his army records so much information from joining in 1809 age 27 to 1833 but unfortunately no family details. Will keep searching.

It is probably worth checking the overseas/army GRO index to see if the kids' births were rego'ed - it's available on FMP.
Civil registration only began 1865 in Ontario - later in Halifax NS

Hi again Annie,
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have recently visited the National Archives and it seems that John Warner 68th Foot is my Gt.Gt Grandfather he served over 11 years in Canada.

The 68th. foot regiment were in Canada 1834-37.

All surviving Army for those discharge from the Army to pension are name indexed on the National Archives website. There are a couple of men named John Warner b Marlow, but the dates don't seem to fit

WO 97/139/85 More informationJOHN WARNER Born GREAT MARLOW, Buckinghamshire Served in 1st Dragoons Discharged aged 40 1795-1816

WO 97/815/16 More informationJOHN WARNER Born MARLOW, Buckinghamshire Served in 68th Foot Regiment Discharged aged 51 1809-1833

They are listed on later census as being born in Canada, but Susannah died in 1850 so not on 1851 census which would shown her birth place.

Where did you find that the children were born in Ontario, Canada? Not on the 1841 census. That census just shows that they were all not born in the county except for George. It doesn't show that any of them were born in a foreign country.

John Warner was born in Marlow, Bucks about 1791. The 1841 census finds him married to Susannah with 3 children. John and Charlotte (born in Ontario, Canada) and George born in Coventry, England where the census was taken. I am trying to find out about his time in Canada, was he in the army, was his wife Canadian, when did he go and when did he return. I would be grateful for any help to solve this.
