Forgot to ask Ann - what was the name of the child born to Michael & Mary Jane Jones mn Leicester?

lancashireAnn Report 1 Apr 2010 23:52

aah - might have made a mistake there

I had typewritten Ellen 27-2-1899 d Michael & Jane. Scribbled beside it 28 Oct 1909 mmn Leicester so guess than probably referred to Rose (I've got pencil scribbles all over my notes today as I found extra things.

sorry to cause confusion

as there is only 1 Rose Jones birth reg mmn Manghan & mmn Leicester has to be the same person. Wish I could find a parents marriage that was even remotely similar!

I didn't write it down at the time as I thought it was probably irrelevant but now not sure but against the arthur b 1907 it said he married a Heywood / Heyworth / hey-something

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:04

As posted by Jan on pg11

possible 1 st marriage for Arthur
Name: Arthur Jones
Spouse Sarah E Heywood
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1929
Registration district: Oldham
Registration county (inferred): Lancashire
Volume Number: 8d
Page Number: 2396

Wonder if there is some distant interbreeding going on in this family as trawling through mmn again on lancs bmd there are children of
Jones+ Glover
Jones + Heywood
Jones + Cheetham

It does feel like we are getting ever closer though with the info you've found.

jansmith Report 2 Apr 2010 00:07

jansmith Report 2 Apr 2010 00:15

yes Ann got marriage /death on page 11

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:17

We all three posted at the same time!
Well done for finding Ada - that one was unfindable a while ago.

lancashireAnn Report 2 Apr 2010 00:20

add to that

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1931
JONES Kenneth John Oldham East Oldham HEYWOOD

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1933
JONES Mavis Mary Oldham East Oldham HEYWOOD
(same qtr as death of Sarah E)

not found Iris

data on page 11 lost in the mist of time in my brain!

jansmith Report 2 Apr 2010 00:20

Are we needing children for Ada/Arthur does anyone know?

lancashireAnn Report 2 Apr 2010 00:26

missing Iris - could she have belonged to Ada / Arthur

The Arthur Jones b 14-5-1907 had mmn = Man......(thought it said manning but not easily readable - could have been Manghan) which this time is Leicester in lancsbmd - inconsistent lot weren't they!!
s of John Edward & Mary (Maria)

lancashireAnn Report 2 Apr 2010 00:30

just noticed that Jones + Cheetham you posted

witness to Rose Ann marriage was a Mary Elizabeth Cheetham

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:31

Yet on lancs bmd it's given as mmn Leicester

Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1907

JONES Arthur Oldham South Oldham LEICESTER OSOU/6/371

Oops did you just edit your post to say that Ann?

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:35

Yes there were Jones + Cheetham children way back 1840's & 50's I think and then they recur again much later

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:37

Not sure Jan but they'll probably turn out to be mmn Leicester anyway...............

I jest obviously

jansmith Report 2 Apr 2010 00:44

Must get to bed now got to be up early in the morning i will go and dream about them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jooleh Report 2 Apr 2010 00:55

Dream? Can't get to sleep for thinking about them!

There is a school of thought that suggests that dreams help us to resolve things. So perhaps you'll have all the answers when you wake up tomorrow............!

jansmith Report 2 Apr 2010 06:51

sorry its back to "the drawing board" i haven't got the answers!
