Who were John Heatley 1813 parents and siblings?

He worked as a surgeon in Blackley Manchester.

I am trying to link John Heatley 1813 to Captain William Heatley of Brindle Hall who died in 1840.
William was a bachelor so I think John 1813 may have his nephew or great nephew or something like that.

I am stuck on this one.

South of Preston

Elliot

Elliot Report 26 Mar 2010 18:36

Yes, it seems likely that this is connected somehow, but there is not a birth for John with parents John and Mary in Lancashire at this time, which is strange.

Simon

Simon Report 26 Mar 2010 19:38

If I went to the Preston Record Office I might be able to the parish records of John's birth with parents John and Mary.

Simon

Simon Report 26 Mar 2010 20:40

I also think John 1813 would have had a brother and / or Uncle called Ralph.

The name Ralph has been used right through to the present day.

I found this online http://archivecat.lancashire.gov.uk/dserve/dserve.exe?&dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqCmd=Show.tcl&dsqSearch=(RefNo=='DDM/38/160')

Prove the name Ralph does go back to the previous century.

In fact RALPH DE LA HAYE was a norman who came to England in 1066.

Can anyone link any of this together?

do you have the maiden name of John's wife Helen (Ellen?)

Chris in Sussex

Chris in Sussex Report 27 Mar 2010 17:15

It would probably be worth trying to find wills/death taxation records..

Given John and William's occupations they would more than likely have something to leave....Unlike my lot :-)

Executors and beneficiaries may well give you clues and you may be able to work backwards/forwards/sideways and find a connection that way.

Good luck
Chris
