BUT>>>>>>>Jack could have been born anywhere and just based in Reading at the time of his marriage so this is not any sort of confirmation.
What was his Father's occupation on his marriage certificate?

CRIPES_A_MIGHTY Report 18 Apr 2010 06:56

Hi All,

I have a problem.
My grt grandfather, mothers side, was a John Wicks....father of Jack Wicks born 1917 in Reading.
Now, I believe John's wife's maiden name was Fuller.
BUT!..there are 2 possibilites.

John Wicks & Emma Fuller OR John Wicks & Anne Fuller.

Marriages Mar 1898
Wicks John Reading 2c 517
FULLER Emma Reading 2c 517

Marriages Sep 1909
WICKS John Minnitt Croydon 2a 520
FULLER Annie Amelia Croydon 2a 520

I have been of the assumtion it was the later in 1909. Why?...as it is the closest date to Jack's his birth in 1917, even though it in in Croydon, not Reading. But they not far apart.

I got Jacks fathers name from Jacks marriage cert.

Jack was a sapper in the Royal Engineers(electrical) at the time of his marriage. Service No. 13059121, and living at 43 Ashmore Rd, Reading at time of marriage in 1945.

I really need to know which of the John's is his father and so then know which one his his mother.

I know ..BUY HIS BIRTH CERT...but I need to know who his parents are so I can purchase the right one!!

On the premise this is his record.
Births Sep 1917
Wicks Jack Fuller Reading 2c 502

Mind you I think I just answered my own question...The above would only count if I was trying to find the marriage..
BUT..the above will give me the parents and so the right names to know which marrige cert to get.

....lol..plonker!

Cheers for looking...but if you can add to this..then fine...or u feel you might be related..then great!.

Cheers Boogie
