I am looking for Ada Elsie Hunt who married George Willis about 1905 in the Hammersmith, London area. I do not know the birth date or place of either of them, but I do know they had two daughters - Lillian Willis was born in 1907 and Elsie M Willis was born in 1909 both in Hammersmith.
I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

The marriage cert will tell you their ages - and the names and occupations of each of their fathers.

With those details, you will be able to look for them in 1901

Look on freebmd for the marriage.....................

Pam,

You need to explain your source of this information because none of it can be verified.

As Pamela hasn't returned to answer the questions posed, I offer this for consideration - FULHAM includes Hammersmith

That family in 1911 would make Ada about 99 at death though.

Sorry Choccy, I wasn't being awkward, just pointing it out.
NOthing makes sense with this family yet. We need Pamela to come back and tell us where she got her information from and what she has actually got the certs for.
My BT keeps disconnecting so I shall try and get back later to see if we know any more.

Thank you for replying. I am sorry but I should have mentioned that I have not found a marriage for Ada Hunt & George Willis. I only presumed it was around 1905. I have looked on the IGI, Freebmd and Ancestry but no trace of it. My information on their daughters Lillian & Elsie was passed down from relatives. Elsie M Willis married John J Lynam in June 1929 at Hammersmith.(record on Ancestry)
I have just looked at the FreeBMD for births in Fulham and have seen a Elsie Marjorie Willis born Sep 1907 - Fulham
Perhaps it could be Marjorie and not May as I was told.

You need to establish some facts, Pamela; family info is notoriously unreliable.

The marriage cert to Lynam would be a good start .

PM received -

All the info that I have has been passed down and I do not have any certificates to prove any of the info that a relative gave to me.

I have searched the IGI FreeBMd and Ancestry and can find nothing except the marriage of Elsie M Willis, the daughter of George Willis and Ada Elsie Hunt). She married John J Lynam in Jun 1929 Hammersmith. (Ancestry record).

I need to see if any family member has the marriage certificate as this would confirm if her father's name was George and also his occupation.

I am now wondering if her second name was May as I have today seen a birth record on FreeBMD for Elsie Marjorie Willis Sep 1907 in Fulham. I am told that Fulham includes Hammersmith. Another reason for getting a marriage cert. to see if her second name was May or Marjorie.

Thank you for replying. It looks as if the information that you sent could be my Ada E Willis (nee Hunt) Hammersmith is certainly the right area.

Looks like there were 2 daughters born to Elsie and John. Do you know about them? They appear in 2 trees on this site.
