Thanks to Lorraine (who does the USA/Canada look ups) I have got my DeBRUSKs in On tario Canada back to:-

Adolphe DeBrusk/Debrusk born c 1830 and
Mary ROUSAK born c 1830 both in "Germany"

I think they married in Ontario but have not found the marriage and do not know when they emigrated from Germany or what area they came from,the first child I have found was born in 1866 in Ontario

Looking for the birth of Theodore Laurent Hazelman circa 1840. It was believed he was born in Strasbourg, France, but no joy there so far. The border between France and Germany changed frequently after various wars. His father was also Theodore Laurent and Hazelman sometimes spelt Hasselman, Hazeman and various. Mother's name possibly Margeurite. They were a Catholic family.

Thanks for looking and yes he went to America first and fought in the Civil War and then to Australia where there are many descendants today but finding his birth has always eluded me. I have had Belguim checked but not Holland if you happen to have that.

Another mention of Theodore born about 1840. Also Belgium.
