Trying to find information about My GGrandfather , I havn't had any luck finding anything More than he was Born in Galway Ireland about 1826. Migrated to Australia somewhere between 1826 and 1860. He Married my GGrandmother Mary Faherty In Brisbane about 1862. Mary was born in Galway in 1842 and Migrated to Australia when she was 16. Her parents were Peter faherty and Mary Gavin From Galway. she never knew my Ggrandfather untill after she migreted to Australia. This is the Confusing Part, He some times Called himself Christopher Connolly Or (Connelly) and sometimes used the Christian name Festus. I have searched everywhere and cant track down any information as to when he arrived in Australia, what ship or where he Left from in the UK. also I can't find anything about where Mary Boarded the ship, It's name or where She got off when she arrived here. and I have no idea who Christopher (Festus) parents were. or what part of Galway either Mary or Christopher came from. I have struck a brick wall with this Couple, and any information would be greatfully appreciated.

I have found Festus arrived as a Convict / Exile aboard the " Havering" in 1849 During The Irish Potato famine. But The mystery of how and when Mary Faherty arrived here is ongoing. She was born in Galway in 1842 to Peter Faherty and Mary Gavin. She migrated to Australia at the age of 16. I have looked in all the available Records and cant find what I am looking for. Mary would have arrived 1858-1859 but where and when and on what ship. By Sea would have been the only way My Ggrandmother could have arrived here. She Married Festus Connolly in 1864 in Brisbane Qld. Australia.

Now I have solved the mystery of My GGgrandfather Festus Connolly. I am looking for help regarding His wife9My Ggrandmother a few years after he arrived in Australia from Galway. Turns out Mary Faherty was also from Galway, Ireland. Born 1842 and left Galway for Australia when she was 16. I have searched every record I can think of and no trace of what ship she arrived on or the reason she left Ireland. Mary's ,wa HerMother was Mary Gavin also from Galway.s Peter Faherty Labourer of Galway This is the only information on My Ggrandmothers Death Certificate. :-(
