Janet, it's a few years since Lewis posted this so he mightn't be checking for replies now.

I'm Ken Harris's sister-in-law, if you're still trying to make contact with him.

We actually have his army discharge papers Linda. I wrote requesting information several years ago and was told it had to be done through a solicitor. Possibly with changes due to Freedom of Information act that may be different now. I'll need to do a bit of digging.

Have you considered that bernard may have served in WW11? regards Linda :)

Linda Report 10 Jun 2010 10:25

Hi Lewis, as per your pm to me, I think it would be best if you did order the birth cert as provided, and established the parentage. regards linda :)
EDIT 11/6
Hi Lewis, please add to your thread by clicking on the purple reply button, not individuals names. This way details are not kept from other helpers, that may assist with your enquiry. regards linda :)

Yep I've tried it all and got nowhere Liz. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and order birth records for Jill and Kenneth. It's the only sure way I'm going to confirm them for my tree. Thought I'd just have another bash on the boards in case anyone new with the info I seek had signed up since I last tried. Sadly it seems Bernard has made a great job of covering his tracks when he migrated north to Scotland in the late 1940s.
