Victoria Day seems to have come round quickly Sylvs, where does time go?

Had to laugh earlier. Our vicar was telling us about the 2 weddings he had yesterday. He felt really sorry for one of the brides apparently. It seems as though she had a 'bolero' type little jacket on which fastened, by press studs, to the dress. Unfortunately, the material of the dress was so heavy that the studs kept popping open and she had to keep adjusting herself.

At the other wedding, the bride caught her heel in the hoop of her dress after kneeling, and couldn't get up again. The bridegroom had to go on almost all fours to crawl under the dress to release the heel. It seems as though a good time was had by all, despite these complications...... :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Tomorrow is Victoria Day .........

............ celebrated on the Monday before May 24

May 24 was Queen Victoria's birthday :-)

Across Canada, May 24 is the traditional day to begin planting your garden, for farmers to sow seed, etc etc

.... that is unless you are my husband, who starts planting as soon as possible, and usually no later than the beginning of April :-D.

It does help that we live in the "Banana Belt"

The May 24 weekend is also traditionally regarded as the beginning of summer ................... people go camping, to their summer cottage / cabin, sort all those items needed during the summer, etc etc

and it more often than not .................... rains :-(

I used to live by the sea for many years. I find it a great comfort..............staring out on the waves, it's much bigger than anything going on in our lives

We are land locked here, so no chance of a walk by the sea :-(

Thank you girls, for your thoughts <3

Afternoon everyone!

Gins, hope you find your sis comfortable ((hugs)) <3

Dea, going out in lashing rain is great fun! Waterproofs on, down on the sea front with the sea all black and choppy, waves crashing over onto the prom, then back home for pot of tea and toasted teacakes - bliss!

Jonesey, hope you're OK. Yes, things a trifle soggy up here. Thankfully we live at the top of a bank so not flooded.

Toots - did you really put the bacon in the cinnamon roll and eat it?

Linda, have a good day.

Sylvia - we're expecting company so I've pinched platefuls of lunch and am going to pass it off as my own. Sorry everyone else.

Oh-well-don't look for the Red-Onion Marmalade, gang, as it's been miraculously transported to my kitchen.

Birds, tweeting conclaves,mosquitoes,Mrs.J.-all pale in comparison to what the squirrels are up to out there. :-0 :-0

Love to Ginny. <3 <3 <3 <3

'Norty Jonesey' indeed Toots! - I don't know how his poor wife puts up with him !! :-0 ;-)

I don't think going out in the rain is ever 'fun' Toots - far better to stay indoors and watch it through the window :-)

Your OH has a lovely name by the way.............

I've spied a cinnamon roll and some crispy bacon

Carlo is my OH and he's disabled so going out in rain not much fun :-(

Good morning one and all.

Just been reading the newspaper and it looks as if MC might be a bit damp as in her part of the world a months worth of rain fell in 24 hours.

Here in the West Midlands we had some sunshine on Saturday. I spotted a pair of blue tits in my garden yesterday afternoon. I was surprised that Mrs J thought that it was warm enough for a bit of topless sunbathing. :-D

Oh to be in England now that Spring is here.

Cynthia

Good morning all and that food sounds absolutely wonderful Sylvs.....thank you. :-D

A quick visit as will be off to you know where soon.

Oooh Sylvs....you are very wary of money fings aren't you? I do wonder what will happen when payment by cheque fizzles out - as it is bound to. We'll probably have to press our eyeballs against a screen for verification.........lol

Sorry about your sister Gins......hope she has a better day today bless her.

Linds.....enjoy the service.

Hope Renes has a great time.

See you later....~~~~~
