Where did she go?

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Jul 2010 22:21

it's just the angle that's puzzling ..... it sort of had to turn in mid-air!

Lucky OH LK!

I've been having a little giggle at one memory from Saturday night.

We knew no-one else on the table ........ but I got chatting about family history with the man sitting next to me.

He was the "friend" of a real femme fatale type ... had to be over 75 just because of the connections through which she was there (and I'm not being catty .... she was actually very nicely dressed, but also very well preserved).

Anyway, Lee the "friend", having discovered where I came from, started asking questions about Stockton-on-Tees where his family originated, and then talking about cousins and 2nd cousins that he'd found, etc etc

Woman, I realised, wasn't too happy about this (maybe because she couldn't hear what we were saying due to the loud music). Anyway, when it came time to leave .................... I got the wettest limpest wet fish handshake from her, and the shortest "bye" you can imagine

On the way home I was kicking myself for not asking Lee if he knew about GR

But I've since been thinking that it was a good job I didn't get as far as that!

................ she might have thought I was after him even more than she did!

giving him a web address

:))))))))

I like hugging !!

I never used to but have spent many years working in Spain and am now quite
accustomed to the 'hugg hugg kiss kiss ' culture.

I had a friend who was from Brazil and she told me that when she naturally hugged anyone from
England - it was like 'hugging a tree' - they went rigid, and I know what she meant.

I wish we could all be more 'touchy feely' like other cultures.

Night All.

The last lady tonight was a bit upset when I got there.

Corrie was just finishing.

Of course if it was evening I would be watching that she said.

She had fallen asleep in the afternoon and was absolutely convinced she had just watched the morning news.

Lady Kira,

You have made me remember a lovely moment !!

I was travelling to Spain with a group of 50+ passengers and we had a 13 hour delay at the airport.

I was rushing round trying to find all my passengers and sort them out and let them know what was happening, getting meal vouchers etc.

I found one lady who was obviously 'mine' - sitting there with a 'magical' smile on her face - I started to speak
to her and she just 'beamed' at me and said "I have had such a wonderful day !! - what are we to do tomorrow? Much the same ??

She was obviously suffering from Alzheimers or Dymentia but all week she just 'beamed' with joy.

It was a pleasure to look after her for the week.

Oh bless.

My lady was not normally confused......just disorientated after a nap.

Dea

Dea Report 5 Jul 2010 23:10

I will always remember her - she was an elderly lady but the smile was that of a little child - I can't really explain but I can still see it !!!!!!

After all this time Trace I think we should "shelve"you.

I rushed round one winters morning dawn saying"Oh dog I will be late for work and my housemates start laughing.

Whats so funny say I??

They say
You went to bed as soon as you got in as you said you were tired and its 7 in the evening of the same day..!

Thank Evans I had housemates or I would have been stood waiting for my lift for ages before realising something was amiss as we lived in the middle of nowhere...

Night all.

Oh one thing.
How can someone book a cruise with friends and not know they need a passport????.
Cant find his birth cert, they want his mothers birth date and place of birth as well apparently and as she died when he was 6 in 1959 he doesnt know.

Who does he ask to find her birth for him???

A DAVIES in Cardiganshire no less !

So he can get a passport by SEPTEMBER ??

My word but hes lucky to know me and that I am on ok terms with our local registrar....Maybe not by this time next week...sighs.
sheesh....Men .

Night .
