The 1881 census with William Jnr on cannot be your Horace's father and grandfather because Horace's father is with him on the 1881 census I posted.

How do you know that William's father was William? If you get William and Cassandra's marriage cert, it will give you their father's names.

ive managed to find that my Horace Hancock born nottingham 1869 his father was William Hancock born nottingham 1841 and mother Cassandra from newark nottingham born 1842 on the family search i found a William Hancock born nottingham 1839 living with his father william hancock widower born 1815 would this be Horaces grandfather the one born in 1815 thanks Janette
