Now that I've had my morning chuckle and the benefit of seeing the whole thread so far ... I wonder whether Jim/Jack was *in his late 40s early 50s* when he died?

;)

My query about WW2 end was directed at Michael.............who seems very unsure about who he is looking for.

Michael stated the man died late 40s'-early 50's.......then decided it was before the end of WW2................so, until he gets some definite info, it's pointless continuing to try to help

i think jim was born in wolverhamton and was drunk and died of exposure on a war memorial shortly before the end of 2nd world war. he was married to my aunt a mary gourley. and its possible they were married in ireland. mary gourley was born in derry northern ireland.i think she was born in 1908 and lived in mountain wiew northern ireland.jim was in the army and think they met when he was there.

I thought the same as you Flick!!!

In my family Jack was used for John

which war - WW1 or WW2?

Flick

He died on a war memorial? What happened....did he crash into one?

If you want help to find out about him, you need to say when and where he was born,

Jack is not a diminutive for James........so what was his registered first name?
