Hi forgot to say William Frederick was in Townsville Dailey Bulletin. Qld 1885 1954. 18th oct 1935 p2. Advertising his death. All to go to his widow. So she was still alive after him. Thank you Joyce

Hi can't believe more information on page 3. I have a marriage for Elizabeth to John William Cornford both aged 45 in 1931. Rena Bond sister was at wedding.. But no one seems to be on line from Cornford family. William Frederick Rowland is given as Father deceased. That's another ??? As father on birth record's is Frederick.William Also Marriage to Mother Matilda. But I've not found death cert for a Frederick William. But on matilda Death 1909 it states widow of Frederick William.. Will now have to look for a death here for a William Frederick. I've been looking for The death records Reggie found on BMD site to order certs. But have not been able to trace them. Did he get them from another site. Yes I do have detail on Rena and her children. But not her death. But the Bond family are Not doing tree's either. unless on other sites... Thank you again. I have a lot more lead's to follow now. Regard's Joyce. :-S :-S :-S :-S

Birth for a Harriett Ethel Norton MILLS in 1897 (rural Qld), daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann (nee REYNOLDS) (reg C3322). ??? Of course it is possible it was her 2nd marriage and so MILLS was not actually her maiden name...[EDIT: there is a tree online that states she married Wm Fredk ROWLAND 1926, no other details]

She had siblings named James Beresford MILLS 1891-1978, Hy Wm 1882-1883, Maud Margaret 1883-?, and Ellen Elizabeth 1888-1961.

Unfortunately I can't find a death for her, nor a death notice for Wm in newspapers, which might have given children's names if any. Since he died quite young, she may have remarried (nothing found to 1938, which is the limit under privacy laws).

If you are really keen you can order Wm's death certificate - Aussie death certs are very detailed. However, Qld ones are very pricey! A$28, which is about 18 euros or 16 pounds.

Thanks to Chris for sending me the link :-)

Hi Joyce

William was here by the time of WWI as he enlisted. His next of kin was his sister Miss E A Rowland of 16 Lowndes Square, London S.W. (Elizabeth I assume). He was 30 and a single man when he enlisted in Oct 1915 (so this also means Elizabeth was still single then). He was discharged medically unfit. If you go to www.naa.gov.au/collection/search/ you will find his digitised service record:

ROWLAND William Frederick : Service Number - Depot : Place of Birth - Colchester England : Place of Enlistment - Townsville QLD : Next of Kin - (Sister) ROWLAND E A

I believe I have found Wm's emigration. There is a good match for him arriving in Qld on 18 July 1907 aboard Omrah aged 22. No other ROWLAND with him. He also appears duplicated as ROWLANDS.

Have you checked 'Search All Member Trees', under 'Search, top right of page here?, there looks to be other Members with Gertrude.

As yet, haven't located William going to Aus.

Hi Chris Thank you for the above Information. Another place to search. Will see if I can find any contacts from Australia.. Maybe that's where Gertrude went. Would there be a shipping list to say who went out there. And when.. Not to good at this But if I go to the web sites you list. Could I find out if they had children. I do know that when I was very small I used to have parcel's from an Auntie Wendy. In Australia. But they ceased. And no other mention of her. Thank you again for you help. Hopefully I'm getting closer to finding more Family and what happened to Gertrude.

Hi Thank's again I do have the Death cert for Matilda Rowland. the witness to this was her daughter Elizabeth Rowland who I believe was her eldest daughter who was not with the family in 1891. At the time of Matilda's death she gave her address as Hyde Park Garden's London. Believe she was in service. Matilda died at The Cottage Hospital Clacton on Sea. That is why Bertie was living with Gertrude and family in 1911.
