Member Since: November 2009 Posts: 2 Send Message	My husbands grandfather James William Gardiner was born in Portsmouth about 1865. His father William James was a publican. We can find no trace of him before 1901. when he lived in Colchester. Neither of them are on any earlier census. Could anybody, maybe from Portsmouth help us.
