Find Ancestors

Hi all,

I am trying to find out who his parents were for a friend of mine who has started his family tree. I'm afraid I don't have a date of birth for Charles but guess he was born about c1902. I do however know that he married Jane Welch in 1928, Holborn, London. Charles and Jane had two children; Jean, L 1936 and Charles, George in 1928.

Charles and Norah's son Charles, George married Norah Brady (born 1927) 1961,Islington, London. Does anyone have any of these names on their tree or can anyone help me find out who Charles Osbourne's parnets are?

His marriage cert will state his age and his dads name ,if known.

try 1911 census should be with his parents if he was born 1902

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely click on search trees to see if anyone is researching the same family.

I noticed on Free BMD that there are as you say lots of Charles Osborne's born in the early 1900's and that having no middle name does make it difficult!

I am afraid that he does not know when Charles passed away, sorry!

Thanks for your reply. I have checked for Charles on the 1911 Census concentrating on the London/Middlesex area as we think that's where the family are from (although you can never be 100% sure!).

The search results gave back about 10 Charles Osborne 's on the 1911 in the London/Middlesex born between 1900- 1910 so I guess that narrows it down a little.

for the sake of under a tenner buy the certificate for their wedding and that way you get the age of groom and bride and their fathers names, saves all the hair pulling and nail biting , and lets face it a good jar of coffee is only half that and you could end up going thr a few before you manage to find them!!!

spend the money on the cert!!!!

Hi all, I purchased the wedding certificate of Charles and Jane. Charles was 23 and News Vendor by trade, Jane aged 20 a Tailors Finisher. The father of Charles is also Charles who was a Butcher.
This has been helpful and enabled me to find out that Charles Osborne born c1882 (Butcher) married Annie Thompson in 1905, London. This marriage record on Ancestry shows the father of Charles to be Edward a butcher however, I cannot trace an Edward on any Census who has a son named Charles!

Am really stuck and confused as there are lots of Charles Osbornes but I can't seem to find out the true identity of Charles's (born c1882) parents!! Any suggestions would be very much appreciated as I appear to be going round in circles!
