i have a copy of all records from volumes 1-9 of apprenticeship bindings from 1692 - 1949 and would be happy to look for any ancestors that were working on the River Thames, with the information you should be able to view the original papers at the Guildhall - so i am told. Let me have name and date of birth and i will see what i can find

Hi Debbie
Thank you for your generous offer.

Please could you look to see if John NEWCOMB born 1855 is listed.
In the 1871 census for Hackney he is listed as a pilots apprentice.
