looking for information on William Matheson who married Barbara Campbell Scotland. Their son William Matheson was born 1826 and was my ancestor. his death certicate says he was born in (Rothshire? Rosshire?) he died 1900 in new zealand |

Jason, as William and Barbara died after statutory registration began in Scotland in 1855, you should look on Scotlandspeople for their deaths. The death entries will give their parents names if the informant knew the details. Credits cost £6 for 30 - 1 credit to view search results and 5 to view / download register entry. Look for Barbara's first as females are indexed using both married and maiden surnames. Her death entry should say if she "married to" or "widow of" William. When entering the surname if you put in Math*son it will give you results for Matheson and Mathieson. |
