Do you remember that GEORGE REESTHE Dore that someone found in Belper in1911 and we assumed that he was this one who was ours?

Well, doing a free search the adults in the house are John Samuel Dore aged 39 and Agnes Dore aged 35!! Also ADOLPHUS Dore aged 14 - Frank 10 - Mabel 5 and Kathleen 6 months.

George Dore's dad Luke Dore lived in Derbyshire and I think he died @ 1904/5 so maybe they were looking after him.

Yes Mary, it could. I've just been trying to sort my head round it all.
Where on earth in 1911 are George William born Dec 1901 Salford - Cyril born June 1904 Belper and Florence Annie born 1906 Salford?
And do we know why Grace popped over from Salford to Belper for a while?
Can anyone remember which birth I thought might be Martha as Martha Walker? She is listed as 2 years old on 1911. There is no birth for a Martha Dore that fits at all and the only Martha Walker birth in Salford that's anywhere near is June 1911. So even if the 2 years should read two months it's pushing it if they registered her within the 6 weeks.

Did we realise before by the way that the Mary Elizabeth listed as Dean - 4 years old in 1881 was actually born as Mary Elizabeth Snape to the rotter Henry? I think it must be her as we think that Henry didn't die until 1878 don't we?

Could it be Florence Annie born about 1906 who is missing.
She was a witness on John Edwards marriage in 1928.

John Seal Census 1901,......hmmmm he's obviously there under false pretences and lying about his family connection dontcha think?

And at 88 in those days he would be on his last legs I would imagine.....George and more likely Grace would be looking after him, but why?
Ten years later she's on her own with one son John. Grace married at 16.....had George at 19, and was he the first I wonder.

I only count 4 kids by her up until and including 1911 so there's one missing, 1911 census says 5 children, but it was written over , was that a 4 originally?

I believe we did wonder at one time whether she was OUR Sarah Ann, but we discovered later that she was a Hughes, then Snape.

First time HID asked me if I wanted a cob (being a scouser) I had no idea what he was talking about. Need to train him to use southern words now
