Find Ancestors

Hello

I am searching for assistance with this man (he was my 3rd great grandfather). In particular in the last week I came across a baptism entry for a Henry Martin Manwaring b 13 Feb 1823 who I believe to be his son (Until last week I was not aware of this man). The entry for the baptism was directly above the entry for Sarah Margaret Manwaring - who I have traced to be Henry snr daughter. I believe he is the son because same information in baptism as for Sarah, parents name, fathers occupation, address.

However except for the baptism record I have no other evidence linking to my 3rd ggrandfather. I have found no death record for H M Manwaring Jnr. Can anyone make other suggestions as to how I may find this person.

Many thanks for that it is the right marriage -though I should have indicated I already had the marriage details. Not sure if it will help but I sent off for a copy of certificate last week - its a case of waiting to see what it contains.

I was hoping there was a 1831 census that would put both Henry's in the same household - but!!!

If I had some idea of his death or children that might help

Many thanks for those records - yes the baptism records were the ones I was referring to. You can see why I assume that they were from the same family.


I would say the 1851 Census from Clifton is him - given that he got married there in the same year.

The other 1851 records is my family - it would have nice to see Henry somehow included - but not to be.. Will keep trying to find his death/birth records of children

James Samuel Manwaring (my 2ggrandfather) is I believe the brother of Henry Martin Manwaring (1823). There father wasHenry Martin Manwaring and Sarah (Margaret) Manwaring (my 3ggrandparents).
Until last week I had no idea that H M Manwaring jnr even existed - had never come up in previous searches.

There is an 1841 record of the family but once again no Henry. He would have been 17 at that time and provably out of the family but could not find him anywhere. May be he changed his name or dropped the Henry.

Many thanks Barbara - yes he does seem to have lost us - can only assume that he was around in 1881 as Elizabeth lists self as being married. No record of her in 1891 - but in 1901 she is living with her sister
