ha ha ha I'm sure your neighbour would cringe to hear the word Austin in the same sentence as his Aston :o) :o)

I get the picture so I'll explain it to you the same as I explained it to my mum - I sold the silver one and got a navy blue one :o)

Neither are in the same league as the noisey Aston x x

I have to say that I am just not 'in to' cars !!

I can tell the difference between a Rols Royce Silver Cloud and a Mini but anything else is just sonething inbetween to me !!

The other week, my neighbour had an Aston (Austin) ?? Martin on his drive - everyone was paying it a great deal of attention - I just thought it was REALLY noisy when it arrived !!.

That is just me though - I know nothing about them and so do not appreciate their 'good' points !!

Enjoy your new 'whatever it is' Arstee !!

I've just sold my beloveded 13 year old golf :o(

She had 170,000 miles on her so your two cars should be good for abit yet !!

Hubby has just got me a new ford c-max with all the mod cons and lovely leather seats so although I'm sad I'm very happy too :o)

Thankfully, I can keep mine in the garage so it is 'safe' !!

Dea
I am glad that there is someone in the same boat as me.
I would be lost without my car as we have only one small shop in the village and supermarket is about 3 miles away.
Its my independence even though my son lives next door I hate to ask for anything.
My car has to sit on the drive so everytime I get out of it in goes a dustbin bag in the drivers well. I wonder sometimes what the neighbours think I am doing.

Barbara - my car is over 21 years old and has done a little over 50,000 miles so we are in a similar situation !!

I love it to bits and will SO miss it when it finally gives up but at the moment it goes like a dream !!

My sunroof leaks also but I try not to take it out in the rain (tee hee).

Ha ha ha - any excuse Dea :o)

Sounds like a great job you had and I can understanding you missing it !! you must have very many happy memories :o)

I sold car parts at a motor factor - quite boring in comparison !! I was signed off when I was 4 months pregnant due to developing just about every pregnancy problem going !! Had my little man and was sooo happy we both made it through I decided not to go back and spend time looking after him - when he's being good it's great but when he's being a little brat I soo miss my job :o)

I didn't know I had a halo Barbara :D

Anyway, It is still there, if I do have one, when I am in England, it is only when I go to Spain that I lose it and that WAS 'in the line of duty' only, and for the benefit of my 'lovely' passengers !!!

Barbara Report 18 May 2011 18:19

Oh Dea your halo has slip
Barbara

Dea

Dea Report 18 May 2011 18:14

Actually, I never swear in English but I have to admit that I can swear fluently in Spanish - It doesn't sound quite so bed!

The reason being, I used to work in the travel industry and would escort groups of people around areas of Spain, translating for them, showing them around and generally looking after them for the week of their holiday.

At the beginning, I used to travel across on the ferry with an English coach and driver to take them around. - Later on, I had Spanish drivers so they could 'fight for themselves' !!

We often got into situations when driving that required the 'understanding' and the 'use' of some rather bad language in order to understand the severity of the situation and get us out of problems!

I was a 'wizz' at that !!!

The idea of using the same in English though is just SO alien to me !!!

I have had to give up work now (health problems ), but I DO so miss it !!

I've already sworn enough for you too Dea so don't worry :o)

Thank you both for the holiday wishes and I'll let you know if it's on the mat when I return............

Take care x x x
