Fredk, thank you very much for looking, but I don't think that's the family. There isn't a Robert with them and as he would have been only approx 5 years old I would have thought he would be with his parents. :-)

I'm trying to pinpoint a marriage for John & Elizabeth Crompton.

There are 3 possible entries on the 1841 index for Robert Crompton b1835 +/-5, Keyword(s) Little Bolton.

I know it's a big ask, but I would be very grateful for any help with this, as I don't have a sub at the moment.

There are 2 entries coming up on the 1851 census in the Bolton area for Robert Crompton with father John. One born 1835 and the other 1837.

Could someone please see if either John is a waggoner?
